Game

Boy the summer is going fast. Most of it has been taken up by Andrew my nephew. Last night was pizza night. Ugh, I don't really like pizza so it was a sacrifice on my part. However we went from Andrew trying to tell me he isn't hungry like he normally does to Andrew waiting by the window for me for over a hour...aww...the power of pizza! He even ate his green beans with out comment!

 I just read a article about therapist trying to get game addiction declared a mental illness. Personally I don't think it is. People can get addicted to anything...it's not the object it's the persons problem with addiction. Being that said I rarely play WOW anymore...it gets boring after awhile.

Create

Well I wish I felt creative but honestly I've not done anything creative since dad died. I've not biked either. I don't know why....

I can't say that I don't have time to write, I just don't write..I work on computer projects which intrest me more right now. I spent the afternoon editing the registry of a server to fix a problem and the evening researching the possiblity of deploying a citrix server on my network to replace desktops and roaming profiles, this probably makes me one of the more borning people on the planet.

my nephew ate his veggies with only minor complaints....yipee....

The Promise

I rashly promised my Uncle that I would go to Alaska with him. Now I ACTUALLY have to go...he wants to go for 10 days....10 days in Alaska? Crap...why oh why can't he want to go to Paris or Rome...or Nepal...or Egypt....

I'm going to have to try to talk him into a shorter trip.

Fancy Pants

Well I did some fancy pants networking today. I moved my certificate services to a new server and migrated the Virus scan database while I was out it.
I'm going to see if I can rescue my old server with a complete re-install and a stress test.

I know you don't care....but hey thats what I did today.

Happy B Day Nelson!

Today is Nelson Mandela's 91 birthday!

I've ordered myself a little netbook ( small computer) I was able to almost completely use gift certificates to pay for it.
I'll let you know how I like it.

Little

So little sis is having a romantic summer....grandma and I are having a kid summer of course. Full of swim lessons, tutors, Harry Potter, and battles about eating grown up food..oh, yeah secret clubs and video games.
I was sitting there watching Andrew SLOWLY eat the tasty well balanced grown up food I made and I had a sudden vision of myself watching him at 25 and snapping ," eat your vegetables!" still. I hope he grows out of being a petulant eater and into being a polite well balanced eater. I've gotten rid of the pouting faces and spiting the food out....Just need to get him to the point where he politely eats whats he is given.

Suzies rosary and viewing where today. I'm going to neither she had no family left to care and honestly rosaries are brutally long and boring. Besides I have bad knee's you know. As it is she is having a high mass for her funeral and I hope I survive all the kneeling and getting up and down that a high mass involves.

Fog

Well our mini heat wave is over and the fog is back. We went down and made arrangements for drapes and such yesterday. I'm also planning a big network project ( moving the certificate services......)
I know not to exciting huh?

Light

Well we had a good time on our Mini Vacation. We ate on the pier with a lovely view our first night. We walked along the beach after and enjoyed the up scale beach atmosphere. Later on we soaked in the jacuzzi...the only down part of the trip was the room smelt like old people ( I just can't escape huh?)
The next morning was a lovely breakfast at a local coffee shop in San Clemente ( where we spent most of our time. We did go tour the Mission in San Juan Capistrano. I don't care what they say those missions all look the same. I lit a candle for Suzie in the church. I know I'm not a christian however I'm a baptized catholic and Suzie was Catholic as well ( You may recall I took her to church at Christmas time.)

That evening we had a lovely BBQ dinner at a local joint in San Clemente it ranked as some of the best I've ever had. We drifted along looking in antique shops and such. I didn't buy anything cause I've no way to get things home.

The next day we drove down to San Diego, we didn't stay though we ended up going to the Wild Animal Park. Which is WAY in the middle of no where and very hot. I've always wanted to go to one though. IT was okay but not as safari like as I had hoped you didn't get a very close view of any of the animals.

Do to a distinct lack of GPS ( cara couldn't find hers and lack of maps we got a bit misplaced going home. But no matter we made it anyway.)

Today we went to a lovely little restaurant called The Alcove in Las Feliz. It has a cute patio and awesome food not to mention desserts to die for. The only down point is it's crowded so be prepared people. It's also blinding trendy so expect stunning hipness and random actors ( I saw one I recognized but I didn't know his name...and I think his show who's name escaped me at the time is canceled....leaving me to ponder..if the general public knows your a actor but doesn't know who you are or what show your in..does that make you famous? I decided no it just makes you a out of work actor) Anyway the staff of the Alcove is lovely in both appearance a personality, so it's enjoyable all around. Prices are what I consider average for a nice place with a patio in California...if you think it's expensive...sorry folks that what it cost to eat here. Parking is tight so spring for the 3 dollar valet parking in the back ( warning the drive way is very narrow)

After that we went shopping on Melrose  ( yes, I know the styles are to young for me Cara wanted to go)  She had never been in fact ( surprising I've not lived here in 20 years and I've been all over she lives here now and hasn't)  Turns out she wasn't really interested in what they had which was a lot of 100 dollar t shirts. So it was just a very hot walk through Hollywood. I saw plenty of sucker men carrying bags and credit cards while there girl friends shopped away.

Ah well I'm  more of a Macy's gal and I hate shopping with men, kills the spirit of fun for me.

Was a nice Holiday all around.

Gallavant

Well tommorrow I'm off to gallavant for a few days in So Cal with my sis. She has completely planned the trip ( it's her vacay after all) So I don't really know whats in store. I wish I had bought a netbook I'm quite tired of hauling a full sized  laptop around and I have to take one because of work and all.

Sides even though I'm traveling I have to plan at least one software migration for next week if not two. I hope it only works out to be one, cause the second will be migrating my certificate server...ewww..not easy.

I know...I snivel about things.

Well Suzie died a 4 am this morning. It's for the best there was absolutely no quality of life for her and she had a good long run. She was in her mid 90's.

As far as work goes we fixed the bridge easily enough. I sent deeper down to reboot it and I got into the access points a different way. My helpdesk guy tells me my nasty co-worker is wanting to fight with me. Now she is a genuine honest to god work place bully and I had to put my foot down before ( reference back to she broke into my office). she thinks cause I'm easy going that she can try this. I knew she would revert back cause it's her nature. She has not clued in to is I don't have to put up with her.

Not at all....
