" I need your help"
" Well I need a favor I need you to carry my server down stairs for me, so I'll be up in a minuet" I try not to waste my work time doing help desk stuff...but you know when you need someone to carry stuff down a stair way.
I went up and looked at the monitor and tried to power it on. It stay dead..which was unfortunate because I didn't have a extra. I crawled under the desk...looked at the happy humming PC...checked out the cords to see if someone had accidentally kicked them...
I looked at the cords....I looked at the cords....I got up and picked up the monitor and turned it upside down staring at it like monkey.
"Baranaby, where is the power cord?"
"Oh, it's right here" he pulled open a drawer and handed me a neatly wrapped up cord. I unplugged it when they cleaned the carpet."
I put the cord back on the monitor.."first rule of thumb Barnaby...electronics need to be plugged in. especially when they come with a power cord"
"WOW, now I feel stupid" he responded
hummmm.....
Folks if it has a power cord...and you unplugged....you should PROBABLY plug it back in..not take the cord off
